Job Summary
Provide emotional support, crisis intervention, and counseling for Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Older Adults, and their significant others to cope with social and emotional problems. Deliver information and referrals for financial assistance and supportive services to patients and families facing hospitalization, illness, disability, or trauma. Manage case and milieu, complete psychosocial assessments, assist in developing and re-evaluating Treatment Plans, and coordinate discharge planning as a member of a multidisciplinary team. Maintain clinical records for each client during their length of stay. This role supports St. Mary's General Hospital's commitment to compassionate care across its cardiovascular, cancer, and maternal-child health programs.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Social Work related field
- Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or related field
- Current registration with State Board (in states without required licensure)
- License required at time of hire and must be maintained (in states with required licensure)
- Minimum one (1) year hospital or Outpatient experience with emphasis in mental health care
- Experience in working with a diverse population with a wide range of problems (i.e., death and dying, maternal and child care, substance abuse, disability, chronic illness, etc.)
- Current state license required upon hire and maintain current (LSW or higher required)
Desired Qualifications
- Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current preferred
