Job Summary
Conduct detailed psychosocial assessments and evaluations to interpret social, environmental, and medical needs of patients and families. Coordinate services including group therapy, crisis intervention, bereavement support, client advocacy, referrals, prevention, education, and psychosocial assessments. Supervise undergraduate and graduate students, serve as a field instructor, and mentor employees. Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement interdisciplinary care plans and performance improvement initiatives. Act as a liaison to financial counseling to assist patients with state assistance, charity care, and other programs. Maintain working knowledge of medical/legal issues and community agencies while participating in staff meetings and continuing education.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree or higher in Social Work (MSW)
- Licensed Social Worker in the State of Mississippi
- Licensed Master Social Worker from the MS State Board of Examiners for Social Workers and Marriage & Family Therapists
- Knowledge of human behavior and performance
- Knowledge of individual differences in ability, personality, and interests
- Knowledge of psychosocial methods
- Knowledge of the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders
- Knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for the diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of physical and mental dysfunctions
- Knowledge of counseling and guidance
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Interpersonal skills
- Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications
- Ability to gather, record, and analyze data
- Ability to assist individuals in recognizing and solving problems
- Occasional travelling to offsite locations
- Occasional working hours significantly beyond regularly scheduled hours
- Occasional activities subject to significant volume changes of a seasonal/clinical nature
- Occasional work produced subject to precise measures of quantity and quality
