Job Summary
Social Worker at Fortune Society's Better Living Center (Long Island City, NY). Provide therapy to clients with histories of criminal justice involvement, potentially deliver services through OASAS-licensed clinics, may include telehealth from a home location, and on-site work at Long Island City location. Core duties include initial psychosocial assessments, building therapeutic alliances, ongoing individual and weekly group counseling, development and updating of client-centered treatment plans, timely case-note documentation, coordination with Fortune staff, linkage to outside services, participation in case conferences and clinical supervision, rotating on-call coverage, and other duties as assigned. Qualifications include LMSW/LCSW/LCAT/LMHC/MHC-LP, CASAC a plus, minimum one year clinical experience, comfort with remote work via Zoom, strong documentation and time-management skills, proficiency with electronic health records, and bilingual Spanish a plus. The role requires flexibility with in-person and remote work, with a schedule that includes both on-site and partial remote days.
Required Qualifications
- LMSW, LCSW, MHC-LP, LMHC, or LCAT required
- CASAC credential is a plus
- Minimum of one year overall clinical experience required
- Experience in dealing with psychiatric issues, trauma or incarceration desired
- Ability to work remotely via Zoom in a quiet home-office location
- Excellent client-engagement and counseling skills
- Excellent clinical documentation and time management skills
- Strong computer skills, particularly in electronic health records
- Bilingual in Spanish a plus
- SIFI certification is a plus
