Job Summary
Conduct behavioral health assessments and provide individual and family psychotherapy utilizing brief treatment modalities for Southcoast Health patients across the hospital system. Serve as a consultant and resource to hospital staff in the management and treatment of behavioral health disorders while collaborating with complex/chronic care management and longitudinal community support services. Perform these duties under the direction of the Manager of Social Work in the hospital setting. This role operates on a per diem basis with day/evening shifts and weekends, including 2 holidays annually. The position requires a current Massachusetts Licensed Independent Clinical Social Work (LICSW) or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) license, a Master's degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling, and BLS certification within three months of hire.
Required Qualifications
- A Masters Degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling from an accredited college or university
- Demonstrated ability to perform as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Current Massachusetts Licensed Independent Clinical Social Work (LICSW) or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)
- BLS certification
- Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be available for 2 holidays per year
- Must be available for Day/Evening shift
- Must be available for 8:00am - 4:30pm shift
- Must be available for 3:30pm - 12:00am shift
- Must be available for a hybrid schedule
- Must be located in St. Luke's Hospital – New Bedford, MA
