Job Summary
Conduct psychosocial assessments, discharge planning, and crisis intervention while coordinating care for psychiatric patients and doctoral residents. Manage patient services by determining abuse/neglect referrals, ensuring safe discharges, and acting as a liaison to post-hospital providers and community health resources. Procure services and advocate for patients and families regarding scarce resources, while educating families and medical staff on available guidelines. Complete applications for resource access as needed. This Certified Social Worker role supports the Multi-disciplinary Team at CHI Health Good Samaritan, a regional referral center offering advanced trauma, cardiac, and mental health services in Kearney, Neb.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Social Worker (CSW) in Nebraska
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work (BSW)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association

- Experience in a medical setting
- Experience with Medicare/Medicaid populations
- Experience in patient education
