Job Summary
Provide individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and case management for incoming 9th grade students at BELA Charter School. Deliver social-emotional skills curriculum virtually or onsite, collaborate with the Student Life Team on acclimation and restorative justice practices, and advocate for students in IEP meetings and community resources. Prepare clinical documentation, facilitate orientation activities, and consult with teachers to ensure student success. Maintain regular contact with outside service providers as a liaison for holistic support. Work full-time with an immediate start date in a start-up atmosphere focused on 100% college completion.

- Some clinical experience in a mental health or school setting
- Ability to engage and diffuse crisis situations
- An ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and a capacity to remain calm, focused, and solution oriented when faced with unexpected challenges
- Ability to work effectively with adolescents, families, professionals
- Commitment to working in Bed Stuy Community
- Interest in supporting students and families via a transformative justice lens
- An ability to actively engage students in their own learning and social and emotional development
- Strong written and oral communication skills including an acumen for participating in sensitive conversations
- A disposition toward teamwork and collaboration
