Job Summary
Manage a caseload of adult safeguarding cases, including undertaking and managing Section 42 Care Act 2014 enquiries. Assess risk, determine appropriate safeguarding responses, and complete Mental Capacity Assessments to support Best Interest decision-making. Collaborate with health professionals, partner agencies, families, and carers to advocate for vulnerable adults and maintain accurate statutory documentation. Contribute to effective multi-agency safeguarding arrangements across Trafford. Operate at Level 3 Social Worker level with a full UK driving licence. Initial 2-week office-based induction followed by 2 days per week in the office.
Required Qualifications
- Qualified Social Worker (BA, MA, DipSW, CQSW or equivalent)
- Registered with Social Work England
- Experience operating at Level 3 Social Worker level
- Significant experience undertaking and managing Section 42 safeguarding enquiries
- Strong knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Mental Health Act 1983, and Human Rights Act 1998
- Experience working within Adult Social Care and multi-disciplinary teams
- Excellent assessment, risk management, analytical, and report-writing skills
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Enhanced DBS with Adults' Barred List check
- 3 years' references required
- Full employment history with any gaps explained
- Relevant qualifications verified prior to start
- Candidates must live within a reasonable travelling distance of Trafford
