Job Summary
Social Worker at Phoenix Union High School District to serve students whose social, emotional and family issues interfere with learning. Responsibilities include providing counseling referrals, crisis intervention, home visits, and connecting families to community resources; direct services to Exceptional and General Education Students; documentation and data reporting; participating in district/ ADE meetings; coordinating placements and returns from private placements; applying NASW standards and ADE guidelines; working with multidisciplinary teams to support academic success and social-emotional wellbeing; conducting Diagnostic Substance Abuse Evaluations and recommending services; billing for medical reimbursement where appropriate; and performing other assigned social work duties. Requires a Master’s in Social Work and licensure/certification considerations; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Social Work
- Licensed by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners as an LMSW, LCSW preferred
- Holds valid certificate in school social work from Arizona Department of Education
- Experience in working with students with special needs
- Experience in working with diverse and multi-cultural populations
- Experience coordinating and facilitating school-wide prevention work preferred
- English/Spanish bilingual preferred
