Job Summary
Supervise the schedule and work activities of a unit by planning and delegating casework, client management, and continuing client investigation for programs in Adult Services, Family and Children's Services, and In-Home Supportive Services. Manage professional development through staff selection, training, coaching, and performance appraisals while ensuring compliance by reviewing completed cases and assignments. Coach staff on emergency calls and crisis situations, handle regular consultations and unit meetings, and investigate complaints to recommend corrective action. Build collaborative relationships with staff, other departments, and community partners to identify and provide services to clients. Respond to inquiries and referrals from staff, departments, organizations, and the public. Research opportunities for continuous improvement, stay updated on policies and best practices, and prepare quantitative and narrative reports for managers and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university
- Three (3) years (6,000 hours) of verifiable social casework or employment services experience with a public or private agency/organization
- Possession of a Master's degree in Social Work or Counseling (substitutes for one year of experience)
- Additional experience as described above (substitutes for the required degree on a year-for-year basis, up to a maximum of two (2) years)
- Thirty (30) semester or forty-five (45) quarter units equal one (1) year
