Job Summary
Answer phones, photocopy documents, and stock and clean the staff break room while assisting Social Work professors. Provide customer service to guests visiting the department, handle front desk inquiries, and plan and host department events. Design flyers and advertise the program to students, representing the Social Work Program at recruitment events. Work independently with minimal direction, ensuring assigned tasks are completed satisfactorily. Maintain punctuality, professional demeanor, and excellent oral and written communication skills. Utilize Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Teams, and Excel, and manage file sharing in Dropbox.
Required Qualifications
- Work independently with minimal direction
- Be tactful, courteous, and effective in dealing with others
- Provide customer service and appropriate communication to those who come to the department with questions, for those who come for meetings with staff or faculty, and for those who call the front desk phone
- Be punctual, prepared, and available for work
- Assume responsibility and ensure assigned tasks are satisfactorily completed
- Exhibit ability to effectively convey information and ideas to others through clear and excellent oral and written communications
- Have a positive temperament and professional demeanor
- Appear professional in dress and in interactions with others
- Have experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Teams, & Excel)
- Have experience with file sharing in Dropbox
- Represent the Social Work Program at recruitment events for potential students
- Advertise and share information about the program
Desired Qualifications
- Previous office experience
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Teams, and Outlook
