Job Summary
The Social Work Intern will assist with direct support to clients at the emergency shelter and participate in case management activities. Responsibilities include obtaining and writing bio-psycho-social histories, collaborating with the Case Manager to prioritize client needs and resources within the Individual Service Plan (ISP), attending staff meetings and case reviews, engaging in professional development, providing direct client support (e.g., intakes, shift coverage), and complying with all policies and procedures. The role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to multi-task and organize effectively, basic computer skills, knowledge of challenges faced by the homeless population, and a valid Ohio driver’s license. Background checks are performed prior to hiring. Job Type: Internship. Salary: Unpaid. Flexible schedule with a 4 hour shift.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of High School Diploma or GED
- enrolled in a 2-year or 4-year accredited social work program
- valid Ohio driver’s license
