Job Summary
Secondary Social Studies Teacher (Grades 6-12) for GEO Next Generation High School. Plan and implement a blended learning environment, provide direct and indirect instruction aligned to the Louisiana Student Standards for Social Studies, participate in TAP requirements and professional development, maintain high behavioral expectations, communicate with parents, collaborate with Special Education and administration, and perform duties including after-school responsibilities while upholding professional dress and school policies.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree or higher or at least 24 credit hours in Secondary Social Studies(Grades 6-12)
- Valid Teaching Certificate/License for grades 6-12
- National Board Certification OR TAP Experience OR Core Knowledge Experience OR Blended Learning Experience (at least one)
- At least two years of successful teaching in an urban environment
- Strong technical skills, particularly in integrating technology in the classroom to drive academic achievement
- Strong classroom management skills
- Demonstrated volunteer or community service
