Job Summary
Teach assigned social studies classes utilizing state and local programs of study adopted by the Floyd County Board of Education while developing lesson plans and instructional materials. Adapt the curriculum through individualized and small group instruction, translate plans into learning experiences, and establish standards of pupil behavior to maintain a functional classroom environment. Evaluate academic and social growth, keep appropriate records, prepare progress reports, and communicate with parents through conferences. Identify student needs, cooperate with professional staff on Individual Education Plans and Gifted Student Service Plans, and administer assessments per district guidelines. Report to the classroom fifteen minutes prior to opening and after closing, participate in faculty committees, and maintain competence through professional growth activities.
Required Qualifications
- Valid certification as determined by the Kentucky Department of Education, Division of Educator Licensure and Quality.
