Job Summary
The Social Studies Teacher at Detroit Cristo Rey is responsible for teaching six classes daily, preparing lesson plans, maintaining a classroom management strategy, and tracking student performance. The role includes collaborating with fellow teachers, attending faculty meetings, leading parent-teacher conferences, and participating in fundraising events. A Bachelor’s degree in the subject area and teacher certification are required, along with proficiency in MS Office and good communication skills. Experience in a high school classroom and sensitivity to diverse backgrounds is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree minimum, in subject matter
- Teacher’s Certification
- Sensitivity to the ethnic, racial, and religious backgrounds of the student body
Desired Qualifications
- Highly Qualified status preferred
- Experience with High School Classroom environment (or equivalent)
- Proficient in MS Office and experience with Student Database systems
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
