Job Summary
Middle School Social Studies Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year at St Joseph Catholic School, Farmington. Plan and deliver high-quality social studies instruction aligned with Archdiocesan curriculum standards, create a structured and engaging classroom, integrate Catholic values, develop lessons with primary sources and project-/inquiry-based activities, assess student progress, differentiate instruction, and communicate with parents and staff. Maintain records, supervise students during transitions, and collaborate with the middle school team on curriculum planning and school initiatives. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Studies, History, or related field and valid Missouri teaching certification or eligibility; Master’s degree preferred. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Studies, History, or a related field
- Valid Missouri teaching certification or eligibility for certification
- Experience teaching middle school students or working with adolescents
- Strong understanding of social studies content, instructional strategies, and adolescent development
- Excellent communication, organization, and classroom-management skills
- Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education
- Must meet Archdiocesan compliance requirements, including Safe Environment training
