Job Summary
Teach Social Studies to students in Covington, GA, using the Georgia Performance Standards and research-based instructional strategies. Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field with a valid Georgia teaching certificate and meet Georgia PSC qualifications. Plan and implement lessons, use instructional technology, assess student progress, maintain grade and attendance records, communicate with parents, participate in professional learning, and collaborate with colleagues to raise student achievement. Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor and perform duties as assigned within the school system.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field with valid Georgia teaching certificate
- Possesses Professional Qualifications and is in-field to teach the subject as defined by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission
- Pass a content knowledge test acceptable to the PSC or provide written documentation that may exempt the test requirement within 20 days of employment
- Ability to relate well to students, parents, and co-workers
