Job Summary
Teach 6th-grade Social Studies using the district-approved curriculum, instructing assigned classes at designated times and locations. Plan a program of study employing varied instructional techniques to meet individual student needs, while establishing clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects. Create a classroom environment conducive to learning, encourage students to maintain behavioral standards, and assist in diagnosing learning disabilities with district specialists. Evaluate pupils' academic and social growth, maintain accurate legal records, and communicate with parents and administrators outside the instructional day.
Required Qualifications
- Four year degree from a college or university
- Major, or 24 semester hours, in subject area to be taught
- Passing score on Praxis II Test in subject area to be taught
- Valid N.C. teaching license/certificate, or be able to obtain such
