Job Summary
Consultancy to develop a comprehensive Social Skills module for athletes with intellectual and developmental disabilities who require higher communication support. Deliverables include a full course overview, facilitator guide, mentor support guide, visual guide, participant worksheets/materials, practice activities, and implementation guidance. Collaboration with Athlete Leadership teams, Special Olympics International staff, mentors, Regional/program staff, and other stakeholders is required. The 15-month project culminates in a complete training package usable by Special Olympics Programs to implement accessible, inclusive social skills training across diverse contexts.
Required Qualifications
- Background in education, special education, disability studies, communication, speech-language development, inclusive education, psychology, occupational therapy, curriculum development, or related field
- Experience developing educational materials, training, curriculum, or learning resources
- Experience supporting individuals with higher communication support needs, including people who are less verbal, non-speaking, or who use alternative forms of communication
- Experience developing resources for an international audience

- Experience developing educational materials or curricula
- Experience designing accessible materials for audiences with varying communication needs
- Experience collaborating with international stakeholders
- Strong facilitation and training materials development skills
- Ability to translate complex concepts into practical activities
- Experience in leadership development or athlete leadership programs (preferred)
