Job Summary
Instruct social skills curriculum in individual and group sessions covering communication, awareness, behavior, and confidence while supporting instruction in Reframing, PEERS, and Social Mentoring. Assess student strengths and challenges to assist in goal setting, produce session and progress notes, and develop weekend activities with the life skills department. Supervise and train department staff, lead the Student Council, and collaborate on social thinking projects to ensure they integrate into holistic student plans. Partner with students, families, and referring professionals to facilitate their path toward independence, while developing relationships with local colleges to recruit social mentors. Operate in a highly scheduled environment with moderate physical demands, reporting to the Assistant Program Director within the College Internship Program's supported living setting.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in Psychology, Social Work, Education, or a related field
- Proficient with office utility computer software programs
- Quick learner in new technologies
- Education, training, or career experience in approaches, methods, and support for persons with autism spectrum disorder and/or learning differences, specifically in the area of social skills or social mentoring
- Successfully managed projects and teams within a collaborative workplace environment
- An Active Driver's License
- Onsite full-time exempt position
- Located in Lee, MA
