Social Services Designee

Monitor patients to detect unusual behavior and report observations to professional staff. Provide routine physical, emotional, psychological, or rehabilitation care for mentally impaired or emotionally disturbed patients under nursing and medical direction. Record and maintain records of patient condition, activity, vital signs, eating habits, and behavior. Aid patients in becoming accustomed to hospital routine and assist with bathing, dressing, and grooming. Administer medications, measure vital signs, collect specimens, and draw blood samples. Organize and encourage patient participation in social, educational, and recreational activities. Interview patients upon admission and record information. Accompany patients to medical treatments, shopping trips, and events. Clean and disinfect rooms to maintain a safe environment. Serve meals and restrain or aid patients as necessary to prevent injury.
