Job Summary
Supervises day-to-day operations for public assistance and protective services in a small county DHS office, overseeing eligibility determinations, case management activities, and frontline staff supervision. Ensures compliance with DHS policies and applicable federal/state regulations to meet safety, permanency, and well-being goals. Develops and monitors staff performance, provides guidance and feedback, coordinates workloads and scheduling, maintains confidential records, and contributes to reporting, audits, and quality assurance. Builds and maintains partnerships with community stakeholders, mentors staff, and leads efforts to address workforce stress and burnout while supporting community engagement and program improvements. Demonstrates knowledge of social services, budget development, resource allocation, and crisis management, with the ability to interpret policies and lead large and diverse teams; communicates effectively with diverse communities and supports interagency collaboration.
Required Qualifications
- At least three years of experience in human services, social services, public administration, or a related field.
