Job Summary
Coordinate monthly statistics for social services, maintain confidential client files, and establish community resource databases to refer clients to appropriate programs. Provide direct service including intake, assessment, advocacy, and material assistance while discussing special cases with Corps Officers to resolve client situations. Assist Corps Officers with programs such as youth camps, Angel Tree, and food pantries, and support daily office maintenance including typing, filing, and mail preparation. Refer clients seeking spiritual guidance to Corps Officers and those needing case management to the Pathway of Hope Case Manager. Participate in community meetings and collaborative networks to represent The Salvation Army at social service functions.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
- Ability to organize responsibilities and function independently
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in social service or related field
- Demonstrate excellent ability to engage with diverse populations
- Excellent time management skills
- Minimum of two years of work experience in social services or related fields
- Must have a high energy level, solid work ethic, and the ability to respond to changing conditions
- Must work well in a team atmosphere
- Proficient in spoken and written English
- Valid driver's license
- Will respect and promote the interests of The Salvation Army
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Internet Explorer
