Job Summary
Supervise youth with special needs during integrated social recreation activities while maintaining a 3:1 staffing ratio. Assist participants in meeting individual goals, write daily notes, and transport youth to community outings using your own vehicle. Feed and assist youth as needed, ensuring safety at all times while adhering to site dress codes and staffing requirements. Provide the site supervisor with 24 hours' advance notice if unable to work and return all communications immediately. This role supports ages 7 to 22 in Skills Builder's program through music, art, fitness, and health activities within a community-based environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED certificate
- 2 years' experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Computer proficient
- Valid Driver's License
- Valid vehicle registration
- Valid vehicle insurance
- CPR & First Aid Certification
- Clean TB Test every 3 years
- Clean driving record – driving record free of at-fault accidents, moving violations such as speeding, or points
- Finger print clearance through the FBI and DOJ
- Legally eligible to work in the U.S.A.
- Must be able to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds
- Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus
