Job Summary
Design and lead engaging recreational and educational programs for youth ages 8-18, including tournaments, game nights, and team challenges that foster communication, sportsmanship, and problem-solving. Supervise Games Room activities to ensure participant safety and well-being while building meaningful relationships with members as a positive role model. Organize special events, collaborate with staff on cross-departmental activities, and promote Club programming through announcements and social media. Foster an inclusive atmosphere where diverse youth feel valued, and consult with parents regarding member and Clubhouse issues. Perform light cleaning, drive the Club van periodically, and oversee special programs as assigned. This part-time, 29-hour position supports the Worcester-based Boys & Girls Club of America in guiding local youth toward a fulfilling future.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in related field from an accredited college or university OR equivalent experience
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to be active (standing/moving) for extended times (3 hours)
- Group leadership skills including an understanding of group dynamics
- Demonstrated organizational, staff and project management abilities
- Must be available for part time, Monday through Friday, 29 hour position, afternoons into evening hours
- May be required to periodically drive Club van
Desired Qualifications
- A minimum of two years' work experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred but not required
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required
