Social Project Manager

Job Summary
Manage social performance projects end-to-end, including scoping, pricing, budgeting, resourcing, scheduling, risk management, and QA/QC while acting as the primary client contact to manage expectations and escalate issues. Lead fieldwork in line with ERM's health, safety, and security standards, conducting stakeholder engagement, consultations, and data analysis to produce evidence-based recommendations. Line-manage and coach consultants, supporting performance reviews, recruitment, and onboarding to build local team capability. Provide technical leadership in designing community engagement plans, land access negotiations, and social management measures aligned with international standards. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences and at least 10 years of experience in social performance and community engagement. The position is based in Mexico City with a salary of $120,000 USD annually and offers full benefits including health, dental, and 401(k) matching. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Sociology, Anthropology, Social Work, International Relations, Social Sciences or related discipline
- At least 10 years of professional experience in social performance, community engagement, and/or human rights
- At least 5 years of consulting experience and people leadership roles
- Demonstrated experience in: Community engagement and consultation processes, including ejidos and other local stakeholders
- Social investment, local content and community development
- Stakeholder mapping and analysis
- Social impact identification, assessment, and management
- Design and implementation of social management plans
- Resettlement experience
- Previous experience directing community engagement processes related to land development, energy, transmission lines, permitting and/or construction of large-scale facilities
- Strong experience conducting both fieldwork (e.g., community consultations, social baseline studies, social due diligence) and desktop work (e.g., research, data analysis, compliance reviews, reporting)
- Strong ability to prepare professional presentations, decks and reports that support stakeholder engagement and decision-making
- Familiarity with national and international databases and tools for data analysis and social context understanding (e.g., INEGI, CONAPO, INPI)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with fluency in English and Spanish
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain trusted relationships with clients, key stakeholders (e.g. local communities, government officials) and multidisciplinary teams
- Willingness and ability to travel for field assignments as required
- Valid passport and driver's license
- US Visa desirable
