Job Summary
Social Media Specialist in BMI’s Los Angeles office, accountable for developing, executing, and optimizing social media strategies across multiple platforms to elevate brand visibility and engagement. Responsibilities include leading content strategy and publishing across Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn; managing editorial calendars; planning high-profile activations and on-site content coverage for events; co-leading community management; aligning storytelling with partnerships and sponsorship deliverables; tracking performance with A/B testing and analytics; supporting BMI’s Social Media Ambassadors and freelancers; focusing on BMI’s Film, TV & Visual Media and Pop genres; and travel for event coverage as needed (approx. 20%). Must be able to work some nights and weekends; hybrid work schedule with in-office presence in Los Angeles.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in marketing, communications, or related field; 4+ years of equivalent experience required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in social media or digital marketing within music, media, or entertainment
- Deep expertise across social platforms (Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn)
- Experience with analytics and reporting tools (e.g., Meltwater, Meta Business Suite, TikTok Analytics)
- Proficiency in video/photo editing tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, CapCut, Final Cut Pro, or similar)
- Strong project management, communication, and collaboration skills
- Ability to work nights and weekends as needed
- Hybrid office schedule & remote Fridays
