Job Summary
Write social media captions for video content across X, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook, identifying short clips from long-form videos for staggered publication. Draft posts promoting earned media coverage, events, and initiatives, while contributing copy to the organization's newsletter as needed. Participate in voice-development exercises to refine the brand voice and ensure all copy adheres to AP style and organizational guidelines. Coordinate with the Senior Manager, Digital Content on priorities and revisions, maintaining availability during core hours of 10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. ET. This six-month contract supports Future Caucus' mission to activate young leaders and bridge the partisan divide.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of professional copywriting experience
- ideally including social media copy for organizations, campaigns, or brands
- A strong portfolio demonstrating versatility
- A track record of producing clean, publication-ready copy that requires minimal editing
- Excellent command of major style guides, with an emphasis on AP style
- Genuine interest in and working knowledge of U.S. politics at the federal and/or state level
- Self-directed and highly organized
- Experience with brand or voice development
- Passion for bipartisan cooperation and cross-partisan dialogue
- Ability to learn and adapt to an organization's voice
