Job Summary
Supports the Public Affairs Manager in creating, publishing, and producing engaging content for all official BYU–Hawaii social media accounts. Helps bring the university’s mission, stories, and culture to life through short-form video, photos, graphics, and written content. Responsible for planning, creating, and scheduling content across BYUH platforms; filming and editing for Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube; designing graphics in Canva; identifying trends while maintaining BYUH’s voice; monitoring engagement and analytics; participating in on-campus shoots, student spotlights, interviews, and event coverage; professional communication with students, faculty, staff, and external partners; collaborating with university teams to support integrated campaigns; organizing digital assets and planning content calendars; assisting the Social Media Manager with other tasks as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to create short-form content, including filming and editing
- Proficiency with Canva for graphic creation
- Strong communication skills with confidence interacting with people on and off camera
- Ability to write clearly and adapt to BYUH’s established brand voice
- Detail-oriented, reliable, and able to meet deadlines
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
