Job Summary
Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Specialist for PreK–1st grade focused on facilitating trauma-informed social-emotional growth and classroom engagement. duties include targeted small-group interventions addressing conflict resolution and cooperative play, collaboration with MTSS teams, co-regulation and de-escalation techniques, and delivering age-appropriate SEL instruction using the CharacterStrong curriculum. Responsible for modeling SEL strategies for students and staff, promoting a positive school culture, developing and adapting lessons, and supporting students with diverse needs including IEPs in collaboration with general education teachers and families.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Child, Adult, and Family Services, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field
- Transcripts required for evaluation
- Proficiency in word processing and digital record-keeping
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Experience with teaching co-regulation strategies and working with at-risk youth or early childhood populations in a behavioral or educational capacity
- Coordination with outside agencies to connect students and families to resources
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to manage confidential information in stressful situations
