Job Summary
Proactively hunt down the latest stories, videos, and viral moments ahead of other major brands, then package them by crafting captions, titles, and thumbnails that drive millions of views. Monitor insights and measure performance to refine content strategies and reach wider audiences across platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and X. Collaborate with editors and writers across the group to influence what a billion-strong monthly audience sees, covering live news moments as they break on a seven-day rota.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in social media, with strong working knowledge of Facebook, Instagram and X
- An instinct for spotting stories a youth audience will love - and a passion for trending news and original storytelling
- For our Junior to Senior level roles, experience packaging content for a digital audience: captions, titles, thumbnails and scheduling
- Confidence using social analytics tools to measure performance and act on the results
- A degree (or equivalent experience) in Journalism, Broadcast or Media
- Knowledge of media law and ethics
- Examples of social campaigns, posts or articles you've worked on that delivered audience growth
- Ownership - you take responsibility for outcomes, not just tasks
- Pace - you move quickly, make decisions and learn from what happens next
- Audience obsession - you instinctively think about what our community wants
- Collaboration - you make teams better, share openly and leave ego at the door
- Curiosity - you're always learning: new platforms, formats, trends and tools, specifically AI
- blended working which means the majority of departments across the business (including London, Manchester and International offices) work in the office 4 days per week
