Job Summary
Promoting social inclusion by working with people with Learning Disabilities in their own tenancy in Dunfermline to maximise personal independence, health and wellbeing, including lone-working and a rota that covers days, evenings, sleepovers/wakened nights, weekends and public holidays. Responsibilities include all aspects of personal care, using CALM techniques, acting as keyworker to monitor and ensure opportunities and support identified in each service user’s plan, maintaining accurate records, and contributing to outcome-focused support planning and reviews. The role involves working as part of a team and independently, coordinating with colleagues to deliver integrated, multi-disciplinary care, and liaising to ensure changes in health, wellbeing, and risk assessments are communicated. The successful candidate may be required to obtain PVG membership and SSSC registration within required timeframes and must be prepared to start registration promptly if appointed. The role demands flexibility in scheduling and the ability to lead and mentor Care Assistants, with emphasis on promoting social inclusion and access to community opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Must have or be willing to achieve in the first period of registration the Social Services and Healthcare SCQF level 7 (equivalent to SVQ3)
- PVG scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland
- SSSC registration within six months of appointment
- Ability to undertake all aspects of personal care and CALM techniques
- Good communication, organisational, and IT skills
- Team working and ability to lead and mentor Care Assistants
