Job Summary
Implement and supervise culturally relevant sports and recreational programs for youth, teens, and adults. Develop age-appropriate curricula, plan structured activities, and officiate or coach sport programs as required. Motivate participants, parents, staff, and volunteers while maintaining positive relations and enforcing rules and behavior expectations. Manage participant, volunteer, and program records including rosters, attendance, and scorebooks. Maintain program areas, ensure safety and cleanliness, and adhere to facility schedules and YMCA policies. Work daytime, evening, and weekend hours with a part-time schedule of less than 29 hours per week.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age of 15
- Minimum 1 year of sports related experience
- CPR/First Aid/AED Certification
- Mature judgement and sound decision-making skills
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
- Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position; including walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds
- Work schedule will include daytime, evening and weekend hours
- PA CRIMINAL RECORD CHECK
- PA CHILD ABUSE HISTORY CERTIFICATION
- FBI CLEARANCE (Department of Human Services)
- NSOR (National Sex Offender Registry Verification)
- MANDATED REPORTER TRAINING CERTIFICATE
