Job Summary
Assist the Head Coach in delivering sports coaching to K-12 secondary students by instructing fundamentals, supervising practices, and coordinating try-outs. Manage equipment issuance, monitor athlete participation, and guide students on appropriate sport levels while ensuring safety and adherence to GHSA rules. Coordinate with staff and partners to support healthy lifestyles and complete required "PREPARE/First Aid" and "Principles for Coaching" exams within three months. This role involves frequent travel for off-site competitions and requires physical effort outdoors. A stipend is provided.
Required Qualifications
- PREPARE/ First Aid exam completion
- Principles for Coaching exam completion
- Georgia High School Association Coaching exam
- Understanding and knowledge of rules and regulations presented by the GHSA
- Ability to manage projects and duties with minimal supervision
- Ability to effectively manage time and priorities
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Analytical mindset: emphasize safety precautions
- Awareness of best training procedures and injury preventative actions
- Ability to discuss issues of moderate importance with internal and external personnel
- High-level accountability for effective operation and results
- Ability to work in a variable environment (Office Setting, School grounds, Stadiums)
- Ability to travel for off-site competition/training locations
- Ability to work outdoors 70% of the time
- Ability to moderate to lift based on sport
- 21 years of age or older
