Job Summary
Parts Back Counter Specialist role focused on managing the full lifecycle of parts from identification and inventory management to staging and field delivery. Responsibilities include technical parts identification for the service department and walk-in customers, high-volume phone inquiries, counter sales, order lifecycle management from receiving to shipping, and accurate data recording in the inventory system. Additional duties include staging parts for installations, maintaining warehouse organization, safe forklift operation, and occasional travel to customer sites for parts delivery and relationship building. Requires experience in a parts counter environment, strong mechanical/component knowledge, proficiency with parts catalogs (preferably CDK), and a valid driver’s license for travel.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 1 year in a parts counter role, ideally within a heavy equipment or automotive.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong foundational understanding of mechanical components and heavy-duty systems.
- System Proficiency: Proven ability to navigate complex parts catalogs and digital inventory management systems, preferably CDK.
- Equipment & Licensing: Must be proficient in forklift operation and possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for customer travel.
- Communication: Ability to pivot between internal technician support and external customer-facing sales.
