Job Summary
Respond to cyber security events and escalations from the 24/7 Managed SOC using an intelligence-led approach, driving calm and effective response to incidents. Deliver situation reports to varied stakeholders and present findings to Senior Manager level while applying operational expertise to improve detections and proactively hunt for threats using the MITRE ATT&CK Framework. Analyze data, optimize, and automate SOC operations through coding and scripting in Python, PowerShell, or Bash. Persuade and influence internal teams to foster a strong security culture, build external relationships with peers and vendors, and attend external security community events. Periodic travel to other Gamma offices for meetings and workshops is required.
Required Qualifications
- Eligible to work in the UK
- Pass a basic DBS check
Desired Qualifications
- Experienced in handling Cyber security events
- Knowledge and experience of implementing, maintaining, and using SOC tooling, e.g. SIEM / SOAR
- Conversant with MITRE ATT&CK and its utilisation for SOC and Cyber security
- Understanding of security tooling such as Crowdstrike Falcon, Microsoft Defender XDR, Tenable
- Proven problem solver, able to demonstrate a positive and pragmatic mentality in the face of challenges
- Ability to work within hybrid and virtual teams
- Ability to manage time effectively and estimate work required to complete tasks
- Member of professional security body, eg. Mitre, ISC2, SANS etc
- Knowledge of tool- based threat hunts
- Experience of incident response and incident management
- Knowledge of querying languages, KQL, SQL, RegEx etc
- Experience with data analysis or machine learning
- Knowledge or experience of automation and agentic AI within SOC
