Job Summary
SOC Generalist Information Security Engineer II responsible for protecting Candescent's cloud-based platforms across AWS, Azure, and GCP. Core duties include vulnerability and posture management (Qualys, Wiz), security monitoring and incident response (SIEM: Splunk), certificate management (Venafi) and PKI, data protection (Microsoft Purview, DLP), cloud and application security, and compliance/documentation. Collaborates with IT/DevOps to ensure timely remediation, maintains dashboards on risk posture, and supports hardening and governance across multi-cloud environments. Requires a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and 3+ years of security engineering or SecOps experience, with hands-on expertise in cloud security, vulnerability scanning, CSPM, IAM, scripting for automation, and relevant certifications.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience in security engineering, vulnerability management, or SecOps roles
- Hands-on experience with Qualys for vulnerability scanning
- Hands-on experience with Wiz for CSPM
- Familiarity with SIEM platforms (Splunk) and endpoint detection tools
- Knowledge of AWS, Azure, and GCP security best practices
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, PowerShell) for automation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
- Preferred certifications: CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CEH, or equivalent
- Experience with Microsoft Purview, DLP policies, and data governance
- Experience with certificate management platforms (Venafi) and PKI
- Experience with IAM (Azure AD) and cloud security configurations
- Understanding of WAF technologies (Cloudflare, Akamai)
- Experience with vulnerability remediation workflows and patch management
