Job Summary
Monitor protection standards and operational procedures while providing functional support to information management and programme staff. Deliver quality, timely protection assistance to persons of concern by conducting preliminary interviews, gathering information for eligibility and status determination, and managing individual protection cases including GBV and child protection. Support the design of country-level protection and education strategies, contribute to child protection and education plans, and assist in identifying durable solutions such as voluntary repatriation or local integration. Liaise with local authorities and partners to mainstream protection methodologies, enforce integrity in partner delivery, and report on protection incidents including refoulement. Draft reports, update databases, and compile statistics within the Area of Responsibility, ensuring PoC participate in decisions affecting their rights.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years relevant experience
- High School Diploma
- 1 year relevant work experience
- Bachelor or equivalent or higher
- International Law
- Political Science
- Refugee Protection Principles and Framework
- Knowledge of English
- Knowledge of UN working language of the duty station if not English
- Knowledge of Spanish
- Demonstrated ability to draft and communicate effectively in both languages
- Experience providing counselling and protection support
- Experience conducting interviews
