Job Summary
Teach snowboarding lessons in a positive, safe, and fun manner to students of all abilities, demonstrating contemporary skills and conveying AASI methodology concepts. Provide area and community information to guests while accurately maintaining documentation for teaching hours, attendance, and risk management. Work collaboratively with fellow employees and independently with groups of students, maintaining a clean locker room and adhering to Bridger Bowl policies. Demonstrate good judgment, reliability, and clear communication with parents, children, and supervisors throughout the season. This seasonal role involves up to six hours of daily instruction on snow, requiring adaptability to diverse learning styles and quick changes in winter weather. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and possess strong English proficiency.
Required Qualifications
- The ability to snowboard from assigned stations to the base area while demonstrating maneuvers to students throughout the duration of a lesson for up to 6 hours per day
- Experience providing excellent customer service
- Ability to communicate clear instructions and safety information to students
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Successful candidates must have the ability to understand and communicate in English with adequate proficiency to follow directions from supervisor, read and understand safety guidelines and directions to prevent accidents or injuries from occurring, and effectively communicate with visitors and staff
- Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand, bend or be on your feet for extended periods of time
- May require bending, stooping, standing, walking, and moving items that weigh up to 40 lbs
- Requires the ability to learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, communicate effectively with coworkers and visitors, handle stressful situations and upset customers, and complete tasks independently and efficiently
- Instructors need to be adaptable with their teaching methods to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of individual students, demonstrating patience and understanding when working with varying skill levels
