Job Summary
Teach snowboarding lessons in a positive, safe, and professional manner to students of all abilities, demonstrating contemporary skills and AASI methodology concepts. Provide area and community information to guests while accurately maintaining documentation for teaching hours, attendance, and risk management. Work collaboratively with groups of students and supervisors, adhering to Bridger Bowl policies and sustainability goals. Maintain a clean locker room and demonstrate good judgment throughout the season. This role requires current AASI certification, the ability to snowboard from stations to base area for up to six hours daily, and clear communication of safety instructions. Employment is contingent upon successful background checks and legal authorization to work in the United States.
Required Qualifications
- Current certification from AASI or International Equivalent
- The ability to snowboard from assigned stations to the base area while demonstrating maneuvers to students throughout the duration of a lesson for up to 6 hours per day
- Experience providing excellent customer service
- Ability to communicate clear instructions and safety information to students
- Employment contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Ability to understand and communicate in English with adequate proficiency to follow directions from supervisor, read and understand safety guidelines and directions to prevent accidents or injuries from occurring, and effectively communicate with visitors and staff
- Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand, bend or be on your feet for extended periods of time
- May require bending, stooping, standing, walking, and moving items that weigh up to 40 lbs
- Ability to learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, communicate effectively with coworkers and visitors, handle stressful situations and upset customers, and complete tasks independently and efficiently
- Instructors need to be adaptable with their teaching methods to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of individual students, demonstrating patience and understanding when working with varying skill levels
