Job Summary
Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for snowmaking equipment, pumps, and compressors while executing welding projects for pipeline repair, structure fabrication, and emergency fixes. Coordinate purchasing of parts and tools, manage contractor repairs, and operate heavy equipment including snowmobiles and ATVs under extreme weather conditions. Assist in departmental supervision, training, and safety compliance while maintaining accurate repair records and contributing to budget preparation.
Required Qualifications
- Able to work night or day under inclement weather, extreme conditions, summer or winter outside
- Able to lift 75 lbs. and ski or carry heavy loads
- Must have a valid US Driver's license
- Must be at least 18 years old
- This position may require the use of a mountain radio/walkie-talkies for communication

Desired Qualifications
- High school, trade school or engineering training
- Five years as full-time mechanic or plant engineer
- Ski area or snowmaking experience
- Certified welder or equivalent
- Working knowledge of computers and how they relate to records specific to preventive maintenance
- Proficient skier or snowboarder
- Working knowledge of total snowmaking plant, its individual parts and how they interrelate
- Above average aptitude in math as required to troubleshoot and calibrate complex systems
- Colorado Snowmobile Certificate
