Job Summary

Set up, tear down, and maintain snowmaking systems by operating gun and hoses, checking machines, and performing on-hill shoveling. Manufacture snow meeting quality standards while monitoring equipment and adjusting computer systems during operational periods. Travel over steep terrain by foot or snowmobile to perform adjustments, minor repairs, and check system operation. Conduct accurate record keeping, maintain clean facilities, and report malfunctions to the supervisor immediately. Assist in staff training and recommend adjustments to improve snow quality and efficiency.

Required Qualifications

Applicants must be 18 years of age
Effective communication skills, oral & written
Strong sense of customer service & safety awareness
Able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
Have a neat & clean appearance in compliance with the company grooming standards
Punctual, able to report at scheduled start time
Work well as part of a team
Required to ski or snowboard on snow and ice, and up and down hill, while carrying equipment
Must possess valid drivers license
High School Diploma or GED
One year snowmaking experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Three years snowmaking experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Extensive knowledge of mountain operations
Must be able to operate snowmaking equipment and snowmobiles in compliance with the Palisades Tahoe safety policy
Must be capable of walking or standing 90% or more of a normal 8 hour work shift
Must be capable of frequently balancing, climbing, reaching, and occasionally squatting, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crawling
Must be capable of frequently carrying, lifting. pushing or pulling up to 50lbs, and occasionally carrying, lifting. pushing or pulling up to 100lbs
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions and the ability to adjust focus
