Job Summary
Design and implement scalable Snowflake data warehouse architectures, optimizing performance, cost, and security for a financial-services client. Serve as the Snowflake SME/Architect to guide ETL/ELT pipeline design, troubleshoot production issues, and collaborate with engineering, security, and business teams. Document technical standards while integrating multiple upstream and downstream systems. This hands-on role requires a hybrid schedule in New York with flexible remote options, supporting a strategic data warehousing initiative within a hedge fund environment.
Required Qualifications
- Strong hands-on Snowflake architecture and implementation experience
- Advanced SQL, data warehousing, data modeling, and ETL/ELT
- Strong knowledge of Snowflake warehouses, stages, streams, tasks, clustering, RBAC, and performance tuning
- Experience building and supporting production data pipelines
- Strong data integration and architecture experience
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills
- Ability to work as both a hands-on engineer and technical architect
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in hedge funds, asset management, investment management, capital markets, or financial services
- Experience with dbt, Airflow, Fivetran, Informatica, Matillion, or similar tools
- Python and AWS/Azure experience
- Experience with financial data such as trades, positions, securities, pricing, P&L, risk, or market data
- Snowflake certification is a plus
