Job Summary
Supervise and direct snowplow crews, monitor weather conditions to plan response efforts, and assign routes to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently. Operate snowplow trucks or other equipment when needed, oversee salt/brine applications and equipment inspections, and maintain basic reports while ensuring safety compliance. Lead on-call winter operations for State DOTs and commercial clients, requiring a valid driver's license and 2+ years of snow removal experience. Paid travel, hotel, and per diem are provided for out-of-town assignments during inclement weather events.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 or older
- Must have a valid driver's license and have a clean driving record — no serious violations or multiple accidents within the past 5 years
- Valid CDL Class A or B (preferred)
- Pass a DOT drug screen, and MVR review
- Be willing to travel to snow locations and stay for the duration of the event (hotel, travel time, and per diem paid by DCS)
- Must attend an 8-hour in-person snow training before the season starts
- 2+ years of snow removal experience
