Job Summary
Clear snow and ice from sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, ramps, and other designated areas using shovels, snow blowers, plows, and spreaders. Safely operate motorized vehicles such as trucks, tractors, and skid steers to move and transport snow. Spread de-icing materials like salt or sand to prevent ice formation. Follow established routes and schedules to ensure timely removal, while monitoring weather conditions and responding promptly to accumulation. Inspect and report equipment malfunctions, adhere to safety protocols, and maintain proper documentation. Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors. This seasonal role requires physical stamina for strenuous manual labor in cold weather, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays. Exceptional performers may be considered for extended employment beyond the winter season.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Physical stamina and ability to perform strenuous manual labor in cold and challenging weather conditions
- Ability to operate and maintain equipment such as shovels, snow blowers, plows, and spreaders
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (if operating motorized vehicles)
- Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills
- Flexibility to work early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
- Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy objects repeatedly
- Willingness to undergo necessary training (if applicable)
