Job Summary
SNAP Center Directors supervise daily operations of food stamp centers, manage case establishment and benefits issuance to eligible individuals, ensure security and confidentiality of the Welfare Management System, oversee re-certification activities, analyze and report on program performance, coordinate with state system representatives to resolve malfunctions, initiate center-based projects, and lead staff and policy initiatives while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local laws. The role requires administrative/managerial experience and the ability to collaborate with community partners and central administration.
Required Qualifications
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory, full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience requiring independent decision-making concerning program management or planning, allocation for resources and the scheduling and assignment of work, 18 months of which must have been in an administrative, managerial, executive or supervisory capacity; or
- An associate degree or 60 semester credits from an accredited college and five years of satisfactory, full-time progressively responsible experience as described in the previous item, with 18 months in administrative/supervisory capacity; or
- A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and six years of satisfactory, full-time progressively responsible experience as described in the previous item, with 18 months in administrative/supervisory capacity; or
- Education and/or experience equivalent to the above, with the mandatory 18 months of administrative, managerial, executive or supervisory experience as described above; substitutions allowed for higher education on a credits-for-experience basis
