Job Summary
Develop and optimize SMT processes including printing, placement, reflow, and AOI/SPI while troubleshooting defects and leading root cause and corrective action activities. Support NPI builds, DFM reviews, and process validation by maintaining documentation, establishing process controls, and collaborating with production and maintenance teams to ensure stable line performance. Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean/6σ tools and train technicians on SMT processes. Manage test runs, prepare records for yield analysis, and apply IPC standards to identify problems or validate new products.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 4–6 years SMT process engineering experience
- Knowledge of SMT equipment and IPC standards (IPC A 610, J STD 001)
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills
- Experience with equipment such as ASM, DEK/MPM, BTU/Heller, Koh Young, Nordson
- Relocation: Eligible for domestic relocation only
Desired Qualifications
- Lean Six Sigma or IPC certification preferred
