Job Summary
Program and operate Mycronic pick and place machines, Jet Printers, and reflow ovens to pick, place, and solder electronic components onto printed circuit board assemblies. Monitor equipment operation, inspect solder paste and component alignment, and perform manual placement, feeder loading, and board washing as needed. Troubleshoot machine issues, conduct electrical testing, and inspect products using microscopes, halo lights, and X-Ray. Perform daily, weekly, and monthly preventive maintenance to ensure quality, efficiency, and safety while identifying defects per IPC-A-610 standards. Requires ability to read blueprints, schematics, and work instructions.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to program and set reflow oven
- Setup and operate assigned production equipment while achieving goals for quality, efficiency, and productivity
- Monitor the operation of equipment to ensure that assemblies are built to print and in compliance with applicable workmanship standards
- Inspect printed solder paste and component alignment for accuracy
- Understand and identify defects in accordance with applicable workmanship standard and class
- Perform manual placement of SMT and PIH components when needed
- Load feeders for equipment and wash boards as needed
- Electrical testing of assemblies as required
- Inspect product using microscope, halo light, and X-Ray as required
- Stenciling and screening of PCBs as required
- Troubleshooting the pick and place machine when issues occur
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, job orders, specifications, drawings, schematics, process sheets, wiring diagrams, small print, and work instructions
- Knowledge of IPC-A-610 specification
Desired Qualifications
- Mycronic training / machine skills is a plus
- Knowledge of 3D X-Ray is a plus
- Component identification skills
- Recognize and identify the different types of solder paste and their applications
