SMS - Student Support Coordinator

Job Summary
Oversee day-to-day operations of the Student Support Room at Lt. Clayre Sullivan Middle School, maintaining a welcoming, culturally responsive, and therapeutic physical space. Implement social-emotional learning and restorative justice curriculum while co-designing policies for room referrals and re-entry. Collaborate with administrators, counselors, and staff to facilitate professional development and supervise interns. Develop individualized support plans for students and teach self-regulation skills, utilizing respectful de-escalation techniques in alignment with school policy. Communicate positively with parents and guardians to ensure academic success and well-being. Bilingual candidates (English/Spanish) are strongly encouraged to apply.
Required Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience working with at-risk youth in social-emotional development roles
- Demonstrated commitment to ensuring academic success and well-being for all students
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a school or youth-serving setting
- Strong de-escalation and care planning skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent collaboration and teamwork skills
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
- Experience working in an urban, high-need school setting preferred
- Experience working with diverse student populations, including English Learners and students with disabilities, preferred
