Job Summary
Lead the safe, profitable, and sustainable growth of the SMP Projects and Services portfolio by building strong client relationships to secure new work and win opportunities. Drive growth in site-based construction, brownfield, and maintenance services while leading superintendents, project teams, and trade workforces. Balance labour and resources across multiple projects, maintain strict governance on safety, cost, schedule, and margin, and work with estimating to turn opportunities into executable tenders. Identify issues early to prevent costly problems and champion a culture of ownership and performance. This role requires 10+ years of senior management experience in construction or engineering, strong commercial awareness, and the ability to negotiate and manage conflict. Required Qualifications
- 10+ years' management experience across construction, engineering, SMP or major projects
- Experience as a Construction Manager, Site Manager, SMP Manager or similar senior delivery leader
- Exposure to Tier 1 / Tier 2 construction and engineering environments
- A strong understanding of structural, mechanical and piping construction
- Demonstrated experience leading large teams and high-value projects
- Strong construction estimating capability, particularly across project and brownfield/maintenance environments
- Commercial awareness and a strong understanding of project margins, forecasting and cost control
- Experience developing project governance and managing a portfolio of work
- The confidence to negotiate, manage conflict and have difficult conversations when required
- The ability to build credible relationships with customers, site teams and senior stakeholders
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or extensive industry experience
- A current driver's licence
