Job Summary
The Smog Technician Trainee is responsible for assisting a licensed inspector with state-specific tests and inspections according to California BAR regulations and DEKRA standards. Key responsibilities include managing cash, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining the property and equipment. Trainees must enroll in a BAR Smog Inspector-approved course and complete it to qualify as a certified inspector. Candidates should have a strong interest in the automotive field, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to handle cash transactions.
Required Qualifications
- Interest in the automotive field
- Committed to excellent customer service
- Ability to manage cash and noncash payments
- Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
Desired Qualifications
- 1-2 years of automotive retail experience (preferred)
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to pass a DOJ background check for DMV Registration Services
